Hello, and thank you for joining us,
My name is Vanessa and I am the face behind the blog. I am Momma Bear to my two boys, Bear, who is nearly five, and The Cub who is two. I decided to make this blog a record of our journey into Home Education.
Although not yet at compulsory school age, Bear would have started nursery in September 2023, where he would begin his educational learning journey, so, although I don't plan to do much with him at this point, I am planning on starting some phonics work, so obviously, I have made plans... I intend to start sharing those plans, and future ones, as well as record some of our learning journey along the way :)
A little more about me... I am an avid reader, a fantasy fiction writer in my spare time (what little of it I find these days), an advocator for being outside, a lover of adventure; the beach is my happy place, and a homebody that loves being curled up on the sofa. Contradictory, I know, but it works! I work part-time for Waterstones Bookshop and spend the rest of my time doing what I love most, being a mom!
We live at home with Daddy, who is a true music lover through and through. A guitar player for a local band and a singer in his spare time. He runs a local jam night at our favourite pub, and you will find Bear , The Cub and me there on a Sunday to listen to him sing and play his guitar when we can. Little Bear already loves music, of all kinds, and is showing interest in the instruments; I have no doubt that I have a little musician in the making!
Bear is a typical four-year-old; full of energy from the moment he wakes up at the crack of dawn, to the moment he falls asleep at night. He loves to read, has an interest in any and all kinds of vehicles, can get dirty by just looking out of the back door and his love of the outdoors almost rivals my own.
The Cub is my lively baby bear who just wants to be involved in everything his big brother is doing. He has a love of farm animals, giraffes, and helicopters, is firmly in the 'empty out a container just to make a mess' stage of his life, can get mucky just by looking out of the door, and absolutely loves his bath. His favourite place is still in Mummy's arms, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
You can find me on Instagram @a.mama.and.her.bears where I share our life and adventures, though please bear in mind that the page is a personal feed and not done for the 'blogging world' as such!
I hope you find something here that inspires you, please leave comments on anything that resonates with you, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to chat further.
