Mama's summer reading

As this September would be the official start to Bear's education journey had he gone into mainstream school, my aim is to be a little more forward planned going forward than I was this year.

One thing I am doing over the summer is getting some reading about Home Education and some of the ideas and theories behind it. I started this pile last summer, choosing Ainsley Arment's The Call of the Wild + Free, which I absolutely loved! My boys very much fit this way of life, and it was an amazing first book to read. I stared Balanced and Barefoot by Angela Hanscom after that but have never gotten through it. I found it quite wordy, and very much aimed at parents/teachers with children with additional needs although that wasn't what the write up made it sound like...

I plan to read The Home Education Handbook next, and then swiftly move onto Ginny Yurich's Until the Streetights Come On. She is the founder of the 1000 hours outside challenge that we take part in and I am more than excited to see what she has to say!

Is there anything you'd add to this list? I'd love to know what, if anything, you read and how it helped your planning and outlook on your home education journey!
